Cranial Treatment
Cranial therapy is a very gentle treatment that works with the subtle rhythmical motion that is present throughout the body. The therapist uses gentle manipulative pressure to release the stresses and tensions found in the body. Many things can interfere with this rhythmical motion including accidents of all kinds, stress, trauma, poor posture etc, all of which can cause a variety of problems. It is thus remarkably effective in treating a variety of conditions in people of all ages.
It is based on the theory that disturbances in the musculoskeletal system can cause disorders in other parts of the body. These disturbances may lead to symptoms such as headaches, bowel/stomach problems, lack of energy and fatigue, low mood/depression, period pains and much more.
Emotional stress also plays a strong role in strains & stresses in the body.
Removing dysfunctions from the musculoskeletal system can therefore have a profound effect on the whole person.
It can also be very useful and effective when other forms of treatment have failed, especially when treating conditions that are too acute for other forms of manipulation.
Babies can be helped a great deal with cranial treatment. With babies, conditions such as colic, excessive crying, poor sleep and birth trauma often respond well to treatment, giving relief to both baby and parents.
